Commission a dachshund in bronze, the proces

I start making a washing model. This takes about four weeks, this naturally depends on the complexity and size of the model. If the laundry model is to my liking, we come together again to assess this. Any desired adjustments can then be made. Dog owners often have specific characteristics of their dog that they would like to see in the bronze statue. It is therefore essential that the washing model is completely satisfactory before it goes to the bronze foundry.

The casting process at the bronze foundry

After the wax model has been approved, I bring it to Bronze foundry Flassh In beam for the casting process. This process is as follows: a silicone mold is made based on the washing model. The molds are made of silicone rubber and reinforced with fiberglass and firefighters. The wax is fired out of the mold and then the bronze is poured into it. Before this happens, the betting and venting channels are applied and the washing model is covered with a mixture of chamotte, plaster and water. The molds are then baked in an oven at 600 degrees Celsius for three days.

All casting and venting channels and any irregularities are carefully dragged away, carved and sanded. As soon as the bronze model is finished, The Bronze dachshund will be patinated. The bronze is given with chemicals and a burner color. The patina that is used determines the final appearance of the bronze statue. The final color is caused by the chemical reaction between the chemicals used and the bronze, a process that can be accelerated and influenced by heating. Finally, the statue is waxed and polished.
