Bronze Rhodesian Ridgebacks exhibited during the 30th BRRC show. On Saturday, May 4, 2024, the 30th Belgian Rhodesian Ridgeback Club Show the annual club show. This took place on the grounds of the Royal Cynological Association Brabo in Brasschaat in Belgium. The day started with sunshine and later became stormy with rain and hail showers. Fortunately, there is a beautiful canteen on site and the awards ceremony could therefore take place indoors.

Rhodesian Ridgeback love

I'm a big Rhodesian Ridgeback lover and now have my third Ridgeback. Yes, I will stick with this breed because “once a Ridgeback, always a Ridgeback”! I watch my dog every day during walks and in and around the house. The anatomy, the beautiful graceful lines, the characteristic Ridge. It's all etched in my memory. Did you know that it is also possible to have your own dog made in bronze?

Your own dear faithful four-legged friend immortalized in bronze, wonderful to have your dog immortalized. You determine the position and the desired size yourself and it is great fun to be part of the process yourself. Below are some Rhodesian Ridgebacks made of bronze, made to order:

First there will be a no-obligation appointment. If the dog can be present, it is very pleasant to be able to view the dog. Of course I can also do a lot with photos and videos of the dog, if it is a surprise for someone or if the dog is no longer there. 

Start with the wax model

Once I am satisfied, we will schedule an appointment to come and view this wax model. During this visit, any potential adjustments can be indicated. Once the wax model is approved, it goes to the bronze foundry. A silicone mold is made on the wax model, then... the casting process begin. Once the wax model has been cast in bronze, chiseling (finishing of the bronze) follows. Then patination (giving color using heat and chemicals). Finally, the statue is waxed and polished. And possibly placed on a pedestal.
